VERLINDE designs a range of hoists with explosion-proof and spark-proof properties, developed with close attention to customer needs for use across a variety of industries — including food processing, chemicals, petroleum, and gas, as well as any environment where production safety is a primary concern.

This range of lifting equipment is currently manufactured in accordance with the ATEX 100a standard (Directive 94/09/EC, enforced since 2003) and EC standards (EC marking, EC documentation, EC inspection certification, and EC compliance approval). To meet the requirements of the ATEX 100 Directive, equipment is classified into 5 categories based on the level of explosion risk in the working environment.
